This Privacy Policy explains how PlaySlot ("PlaySlot", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website, venue-owner dashboard, and mobile applications (together, the "Platform").

1. Information we collect

Account information: name, email address, phone number, and password (stored as a salted hash, never in plain text).
Booking information: venue, slot, date/time, and booking history.
Venue information: for venue owners, business name, venue details, facilities, pricing, and payout details.
Communication data: messages sent via WhatsApp/SMS OTP flows, and support requests.
Usage data: device information, IP address, and app/browser interactions, collected automatically for security and analytics.
Payment data: processed directly by our payment processor (Razorpay); PlaySlot does not store full card, UPI, or bank details.

2. How we use your information

To create and manage your account, and verify your identity via email/SMS/WhatsApp OTP.
To process bookings, payments, and payouts.
To send booking confirmations, reminders, and account-related notifications.
To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
To improve the platform through aggregated, non-identifying analytics.
To respond to support requests.

3. How we share information

We share information only where necessary to operate the platform:

Venue owners see the booking details (name, contact, slot) of players who book their venue, so they can manage the booking.
Payment processing is handled by Razorpay, which receives the data needed to complete a transaction.
Communication providers (email, SMS, and WhatsApp Business API) are used solely to deliver OTPs and notifications you've triggered.
Cloud infrastructure providers (e.g. AWS) host our servers, databases, and uploaded files under contractual confidentiality obligations.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Data retention

We retain account and booking data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention obligations. You may request deletion of your account at any time; some records may be retained where required by law.

5. Security

Passwords are hashed, sensitive fields are never returned by default from our API, and access to production systems is restricted. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encrypted backups.

6. Your rights

Access, correct, or update your account information from your dashboard settings at any time.
Request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
Opt out of non-essential notifications.
